2026 Rules and Regulations
To qualify for the 2026 Championship, a contestant must fish a minimum of 2 events. The Championship will be held on October 3rd & 4th on the Mississippi River – Pool 13, Savanna, IL.
Championship entry fee: $125 (2 events), $90 (3 events), $70 (5+ events). Big Bass will be $20 for the event.
1. SAFETY: Safe boating must be observed at all times. Life jackets and kill switches are required when engine is running.
2. SPORTSMANSHIP: High standards required. No alcohol or illegal substances during events.
3. TACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Artificial baits only. One rod in use at a time.
4. HORSEPOWER: Boats must comply with BIA horsepower ratings.
5. BASIC BOAT EQUIPMENT: Coast Guard safety gear required. Livewell required.
6. PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Fish anywhere unless restricted. Must remain in legal waters.
7. OFFICIAL CHECK POINT: Morning check-out and afternoon check-in required.
8. SCORING: Based on total weight. Only largemouth and smallmouth count.
9. DEAD FISH PENALTY: 0.5 lb penalty per dead fish.
10. ELIGIBILITY: Must be 18 years or older and a Chasin Bass member.
11. REGISTRATION: Mandatory pre-tournament meeting.
12. PAIRINGS: Singles tournament only.
13. STARTING POSITIONS: Drawn at meeting.
14. PRE-TOURNAMENT PRACTICE: Allowed up to event day.
15. NO WAKE ZONES: Must be observed.
16. SHORT FISH PENALTY: Fish under 14” not counted.
17. LATE PENALTY: 1 lb per minute late.
18. TIES: Largest stringer breaks ties.
19. COMPLIANCE: All anglers must follow rules and state laws.
20. RULINGS: Tournament director has final decision.
